Flight into Aswan, Tour to Aswan High and Dam Philae Temple

Your flight will arrive into Aswan Airport where you will be met by your tour guide and driver who will escort you to your designated Cruise ship where you will be checked in and shown to your room.

Lunch will be served on the boat.

After Lunch, you will be taken to visit:

Aswan High Dam (Arabic – Al- Saad al – Ali)

Enjoy the view and the size of this beautiful creation. The construction of the Dam began on 9th January 1960 and was completed on 21st July 1970. The dam is more than two miles long. The massive $1.12 billion dam ended the cycle of flood and drought in the River Nile region.

Philae Temple
Philae Temple in Greek (P-aaleq) and in Ancient Egyptian (Pilak) meaning ‘the end,’ or remote place.
Construction of the temple begun by Ptolemy II and completed by the Roman Emperors. The Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus.

Due to the construction of the Dam, in order to preserve the temple it was moved from its original site to the island.
(your tour guide will provide further information on the day).

You will return to your cruise ship where you will enjoy dinner in the restaurant. After dinner you will have time to explore Aswan with your tour guide

Tour of Kom Ombo Temple

After breakfast is served, the ship will set sail for Kom Ombo Temple. You will be able to relax and enjoy the wonderful sites whilst cruising along the beautiful River Nile.

Lunch will be provided on the ship.

Kom Ombo Temple

Kawm Umbu also spelt Kom Ombo / Kum Umbu is situated on the Nile between Aswan and Edfu (Upper Egypt)
Here you will be able to explore this unique double Temple which boasts courthalls, sanctuaries and rooms which are dedicated to two Gods. The Southern half was dedicated to the Crocodile God Sobek, the God of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor the Goddess of love and joy and Khonsu the God of the moon. The Northern part is dedicated to Horus the “God of the Sun” and Tasenetnofret “The Good Sister”.

You will return to the ship where you will have dinner.

The ship will set sail for Edfu where You will spend the night.

Tour of Edfu Temple and Luxor City East Bank - Luxor and Karnak Temples

After breakfast you will be taken by your Tour Guide to visit Edfu Temple by Horse and Carriage

The temple is located on the West Bank of the Nile and is one of the largest and well-preserved temples in Egypt it is believed to be one of the eldest which is dedicated to the Falcon God Horus.

We will return to the boat for lunch whilst sailing across the beautiful River Nile to Luxor City.

Luxor City, Arabic Al-Uqṣur, also called El-Aksur is in the upper part of Egypt and has given its name to the Southern part of the ruins of the ancient Egyptian city of Thebes.

Luxor Temple – This is a magnificent building that was built in dedication to the rejuvenation to kingship and it is believed that many a king was crowned and coronations were held in this magnificent open air temple.

Karnak Temple is located on the East Bank of the the River Nile and is well over 2000 yrs old. The temple was previously known as Ipet – Isut ( “The most sacred of places”) and is dedicated to the Theban Triad Amun, Mut and Khonsu comprising of temples chapels, kiosks pylons and obelisks it is one of the largest temples to have been built in Egypt.

( Your Tour Guide will explain in-depth about the history of the temples).

You will then return to your ship for dinner and entertainment.

Luxor West Bank - Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Statue of Colossi Memmon

After breakfast you will checkout from your room. You will be taken by your Tour Guide to visit the following sites:

Valley of the Kings ( this will include entry tickets to visit 3 of the tombs).

The Valley of the Kings is located on the West Bank of Luxor and is the ancient burial site of the Pharaoh’s.
Here you will be able to visit three tombs (this will be dependent on which tombs are available for viewing on the day). You will also have the option to visit the well-known tomb of Tutankhamun (which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922) however, his remains are now situated at Cairo Museum (Please discuss further with your tour guide if you wish to visit).

Hatshepsut Temple – Djeser Djeseru (Holy of Holiest)

Hatshepsut was known as the second female Pharaoh in Egypt and was the wife of Thutmose II and was part of the 18th Dynasty.
Hatshepsut ruled from 1479 – 1458 BC.

Hatshepsut was also known for establishing trade networks and embarking on a prolific programme of building, including her amazing temple.

Finally, you will visit the statue of Colossi Memnon (El Colossat or Es- Salamat)

These wonderful massive statues are of Amenhotep III. Carved into the stones alongside him are his wife Tiye and his mother Mutemwiya and the side panels depict the Nile God Hapi.

Following your visits, you will be taken to a local restaurant to experience and enjoy real authentic Egyptian Cuisine.

You will be taken by boat to the East Bank of the Nile, where you will be picked up by Car/Mini-bus and taken to Luxor Airport to get your flight home.
